About 150 people retaliated when Tshwane Metro Police Department apparently evicted them, as the land in Extension 6 was to be used for new housing developments, police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.

But the enraged group torched a bus belonging to the Atteridgeville Bus Service, and stoned and damaged another.

“They then moved to the bus depot, where they burned another bus. No injuries and arrests have been made. Police continue to monitor the situation, which is currently calm,” Moloto said.
