A body of a woman in her forties was found in Atteridgeville cemetery, west of Pretoria on Friday morning.

A passerby discovered the body shortly after 06:00 and alerted the authorities, reports Pretoria East Rekord

“Police suspect that the victim was hit and killed with a sharp object,” said police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.

“She sustained injuries on the upper body and her clothes were torn apart.”

Moloto said it was suspected that the woman was sexually assaulted.
