Limpopo warrant officer ‘butchered’ in front of his children

Nemugumoni (54) was attached to the Levubu police station and working in the Community Service Centre.


Provincial commissioner Lt General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the murder of Nemugumoni, which occured in Levubu outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo on Monday night, Bosveld Review reports.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says Nemugumoni had just arrived at his home at Tshakhuma Luvhalani B village, when an unknown man attacked him and stabbed him with a sharp instrument.

“The children were alerted by frantic screams and peeped through the window and saw their father being murdered. They screamed for help and the killer let go and fled the scene,” Ngoepe explained.

Police and medical emergency services were notified but the victim was declared dead on the scene.

“The motive behind this brutal killing is still unknown at this stage, but police investigations are underway,” Ngoepe said.

Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Nneke Ledwaba has already established a dedicated team composed of various police units who will work on the case around the clock.
