There are fiery newcomers to North West’s footballing scene that are intent on making a name for themselves with goals of success and prosperity.
The Ikageng-based North West Signal FC are still unbeaten in stream C1 in the SAB League (4th tier of SA Football) after 12 matches and have blown the competition out of the water.
The team was put together in the previous year under the ownership of Bethuel ‘Lampie’ Mere and the team has flourished with the former Sundowns defender, Thabiso Rammile as the coach and Boboki Leie as his assistant taking them to a brilliant start.
‘Our aspiration at NW Signal FC is to get a promotion to the Vodacom League (3rd Division) in 2020. I believe we have the local players to do it but we will need the community to support our team financially,’ said Mere.
According to him, the big plan will be for the club to function as a consortium with various stakeholders and roleplayers taking the club forward as a truly local North West club.
‘We need a real boost in our local football scene and we need the roleplayers who are financially stable to support football. It is one of the only ways in which the sport will truly grow. We need the J.B. Marks Municipality to also come on board,’ he added.
