In a complete turnaround from their 3-day loss against Boland over the weekend, the Dragons put on their game face and delivered in the CSA Provincial One Day Cup with a 112 run win at Senwes Park on Sunday, 10 March.
It was former Boland batsman, Jean Bredenkamp, with 75 (94) with 5 fours and a six, who lead the way for the North West Dragons as the stylish right-hander hit a well-deserved half-century. Shane Dadswell’s 58 at the top of the order also got things underway for the Dragons in their 274 all out.
The Dragons bowling performance was even better as the guileful, Craig Alexander picked up 4/39 to peg the visitors back right from the onset at 3/38. Spinners, Johannes Diseko (2/23) and Katle Leokaoke (2/24) also showed their quality in the middle overs as they strangled the men from Paarl. In the end, Boland could only put on 162 all out as they feel short against the current One Day Cup holders.
North West are currently in third place in Pool B after 10 games.

Boland smash Dragons in three day encounter
It was a 3-day provincial CSA Cup match to forget for the North West Dragons this past weekend at Senwes Park as Boland beat them by an innings and 69 runs from 7-9 March.
The Dragons batsman had no real firepower and could not withstand Boland’s attack which focused on combining pace and spin to great effect.
Boland batted first and made 348 all out before the Dragons were bowled out for 140 in the first innings and 139 in the second.
The former Western Province and SA u.19 star, Dayyaan Galiem, was at the top of his game scoring a valiant 108 (181) together with all-rounder, Kyle Simmonds (72 off 79) to put Boland on track for the win.
Galiem also had a good run with the ball as his bouncers gave the home side a number of problems. Ziyaad Abrahams (2/31) in the first innings and (2/15) in the second also showed his pace and skill with the new ball. Simmonds picked up 4/36 in the second innings with his left arm spin to finish the game off.
