Hat-trick hero gives SA their first win at u.19 T20 Cricket World Cup

Madison Landsman made history when she claimed the first ever hat-trick in a u.19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

South Africa’s u.19 ICC T20 Women’s World Cup hopes were given a huge boost as they claimed a 44-run win against Scotland yesterday (Monday, 16 January) at Willowmore Park in Benoni.

The spin bowlers did a brilliant job in defending a small total of 112/7, as they bundled Scotland out for 68.

Madison Landsman made history when she claimed the first ever hat-trick in a u.19 Women’s T20 World Cup. She finished with impressive figures of 4/16. Seshni Naidu (2/11) and Jemma Botha (2/13) were also economical with their spin deliveries.

Earlier on, SA were in big trouble at 43/6 after 10 overs, but Kayla Reyneke played a match winning knock of 53 (49) to keep SA’s charge towards the Super Six stage alive.

SA next face the UAE on Wednesday, 18 January where a win will take them into the Super 6 Six stage, which will be played in Potchefstroom.
