The North West Dragons and Western Province could finally get some game time at the J.B. Marks Oval on day 4 of the CSA 4 Day Challenge Division 1 match yesterday (Wednesday, 22 February).
This after constant rain over the weekend had soaked the outfield, with no play possible during the first three days.
Both teams knew that the match would end in a draw and rather used the opportunity to give their Protea players some much needed game time in the middle.

The North West Dragons won the toss with outgoing captain, Heino Kuhn, electing to field first in his final day of cricket as a professional cricketer.
This gave the Dragons a chance a accumulating points as well, with them getting a points after every two wickets. This in the end amounted to around 5 points, having kept Western Province to a score of 345/9 at the close of play.
The top bowlers for the Dragons on the day were Renaldo Meyer (4/74) off 16 overs, Protea-bound, Senuran Muthusamy (1/48) from 23 overs and Eldred Hawken (2/78) off 19 overs.
Western Province opener and new Proteas callup, Tony de Zorzi could only manage 18 (32) before he dragged a delivery from Meyer onto his stumps.
Kyle Verreynne (64 off 113) and Kyle Simmonds (70 off 75) were the top scorers for Western Province on the day.
The Dragons are still second from bottom on the table with two matches to go against the Dolphins in Durban (5 March) and Titans in Centurion (12 March).
