The Clash of the Giants was a rugby festival to remember as six schools left their blood, sweat and tears on the rugby fields of Potchefstroom Boys High this past Saturday, March 7.

Potch Boys High took on Sasolburg High School, HTS Klerksdorp battled against HTS Sasolburg and KHS locked horns with Parktown Boys High in three interprovincial clashes.

The first team matches were the highlight of the day on the A-field as hosts Boys High went down by 29-17 to Sasolburg High in an entertaining contest. The Spanners of HTS Sasolburg beat their counterparts from Klerksdorp 24-15, whilst KHS and Parktown Boys High could not be separated in a 26-26 draw.

In the head-to-head results across all the matches, KHS won five matches, Parktown won two and two matches were drawn. HTS Sasolburg won three out of their five matches.

Sasolburg High won all their encounters against Potchefstroom Boys High in competitive encounters.

The day produced good running rugby with attack minded teams not being scared to put the foot on the accelerator.

“We want to thank all the staff, participating schools, players, parents, sponsors and officials who made this day such a success. We hope to bring in even more schools to this event in the future,” stated Mohau Mohlahleli, sports coordinator at Potchefstroom Boys High.
