Road closures this Saturday for Potch10KM road race

The public is advised that several roads in the Bult area will be closed in the afternoon from 16:00 for this road race.

Excitement is reaching fever pitch for the annual Potch10KM Road Race and Post-Race Festival set to take place in Potchefstroom on Saturday, March 21.

The public is advised that several roads in the Bult area will be closed in the afternoon from 16:00 for this road race. These roads include Esselen Street, Molen Street, Rissik Street, Steve Biko Street, Calderbank Bridge and Postma Street.  The race will start at 17:00 at the JB Marks Oval.

There are numerous prizes up for grabs in the 10km open categories with both the men’s and women’s winners walking away with R5 000 in prize money. Second place will earn R3 000, while the third-place finishers will receive R2 000.

A 5km Fun Run will also be held for participants who prefer a calmer run.

Pre-entries for the event close on Tuesday evening March, 17). Runners can enter here.

The Potch10KM race will also feature post-race entertainment in the form of the talented Matthew Mole and Rooksein.

Music and sound checks will take place in intervals between 10:00 and 14:00. The post show music will end at approximately 21:30.
