The event, held at the John Barrable Hall in Benoni, saw participation from over 500 athletes representing 15 African countries, along with the presence of esteemed dignitaries from across the continent and beyond.

KZN athletes made an impressive mark, with 15 athletes participating and achieving remarkable results, tallying a total of eight gold, 20 silver and two bronze medals.

The Esterhuizen duo had the unique privilege of working alongside Eleftheria Panagopoulou, president of the European committee.

The pair was awarded Wako gold referee cards during the international Wako Referees Seminar. Notably, Acelia was acknowledged as the youngest referee to earn this coveted certification, underscoring her exceptional skill and commitment.

Seema said, “It warms my heart to see KZN athletes developing, striving, and keeping the KZN flag flying high. The KZN Kickboxing Association celebrates this collective achievement and looks forward to seeing its athletes continue to excel on both national and international stages.
