Since its inception, the event has continued to attract athletes of all levels seeking a well organised, memorable running experience. It is known for its competitive edge and community spirit. ACC’s running captain, Warren Gibson, said 11 members participated in the 42.2km race, three in the 21.1 race, and 14 ran the 14km race.

“It was a very warm day out on the road for all the runners on a new route. So it was something different,” said Gibson.

In a statement, Best of the Best Marathon organisers said the race was never just about the finish line, but it belonged to the runners.

“From the first stride to the final stretch, the atmosphere was electric because of you. The passion, the determination, the celebration at the finish line, this is what makes Best of the Best Marathon truly special. Congratulations to you all, this was your stage,” read the statement.
