Just in: One dead, two critically injured in Wentworth shooting

Sources at the scene reported a group of people behaving suspiciously in Hime Street shortly before the shooting occurred.

ONE person was shot dead and others seriously injured  in a shooting that occurred this afternoon on Hime Street in Wentworth.

PT Alarms spokesperson Dhevan Govindasamy said their response officers were dispatched  following a call from Colonel Sinayo Mtshali of Wentworth police station, reporting a shooting and an altercation in Hime Street.

“One man aged 20 was shot and killed while two others sustained serious injuries and rushed to hospital.

“It was group of men who were behaving very suspiciously before opening fire at the victims. The motive for the attack is unknown at this stage and is under police investigation,” said Govindasamy.
