Lebeoana should be too good

Which Lebeoana will turn up at Flamingo Park today?

We all know this six-year-old son of AP Arrow is loaded with ability but after a couple of wins, he tends to throw in the odd dud.

That happened last time when he contested a Pinnacle Stakes over 1800m at Flamingo Park. He went off as 15-20 favourite but blew most punters out of the water when he could only manage to finish sixth, 5.25 lengths behind Il Palio. He was reported not to be striding out on that occasion but hopefully that is all behind him as Tienie Prinsloo’s charge comes out over the same course and distance today in another Pinnacle Stakes.

Once again he is the best weighted runner and if fit and well, should be hard to beat. Ryan Munger is in the irons again.

Premier Chance is a relative newcomer to Kimberley and after a horrific first run at Flamingo Park for trainer Stephanie Miller, blinkers were fitted and that resulted in a very different outcome. Then, in a MR 84 Handicap over 1800m, he ran clear of the opposition to beat Big Shot by four lengths. Mathew Thackeray took the ride but this time Gunter Wrogemann is aboard.

Big Shot is also in this field and gets a 3.5kg pull on Premier Chance. It might not be enough to reverse the placings but it should bring them a lot closer.

An interesting runner is Mai Thaiga. Like Premier Chance, he had a shocking first run at the course but still finished five lengths in front of Premier Chance and could improve.
