Polytrack to suit Tarry runner

Some horses just love the Polytrack and Sean Tarry-trained In Other Words is one of those runners.

She began her career in a race over 1200m at Scottsville in which she finished a 1.25-length second to Shezaleader.

After that she reeled off four wins in a row on the Polytrack over races between 1200m and 1400m and then Tarry put the four-year-old daughter of Trippi into the Grade 3 Flamboyant Stakes over 1600m on the turf.

She ended up running seventh, 5.15 lengths behind Olma. In Other Words Returns to the Polytrack today to race in a Conditions Plate over 1600m and is the best handicapped runner. Olma was in the field again but unfortunately she has been withdrawn and that makes In Other Words stand out in this field.

Of course, one would like to dissect her last run and analyse what caused the defeat. She was back on turf, she was trying 1600m for the first time and she was drawn No 10 out of 11 runners. She was also reported to have lost ground at the start and was blowing after the race.

One somehow doubts the turf caused her downfall as she had run well on the surface on debut. The distance also seems a dubious excuse as she was running on the latter stages. The draw must have been some sort of factor as a wide barrier position over 1600m at Greyville is a nightmare. The blowing issue could have been the main cause as she could have had something troubling her.

In any case she deserves another chance and looks the best banker on the card.
