Chiefs star wants new deal

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande is yet to sign a contract extension with the Naturena-based side.

Phakaaathi source close to the Zimbabwean player has claimed that Chiefs have not offered the veteran what he feels he is worth and negotiations are ongoing.

“He is happy to stay but wants the team to show him they still want him and appreciate him by offering him big money. That is why he is playing so well as he wants to prove he can still go on for a good three or four years,” said the source.

Katsande has been in spectacular form for Amakhosi lately, scoring two brilliant goals in the past two matches and the source says he is proving to Steve Komphela that he is a box-to-box midfielder.

“There were concerns that he sits back a lot and he is now proving he can also be useful in attack. The team is doing well because he now helps going forward and doesn’t only look to defend,” added the source.
