Chiefs target SuperSport duo in next transfer window

“Mbule and that young defender, Fleurs are top of Hunt’s list of candidates he wants and he has asked that the management do everything they can to get them,” said a source.

Kaizer Chiefs have set their eyes on two SuperSport United and Bradley Grobler is not one of them.

Phakaaathi has learned that Amakhosi have shifted their interest from the lethal striker to midfield maestro, Sipho Mbule and defender Luke Fleurs.

Chiefs will be allowed to sign players at the end of the 2020/2021 season. Amakhosi were banned from signing players by Fifa as punishment for acquiring the services of Madagascan midfielder Andriamirado “Dax” Andrianarimanana without the permission of his club Fosa Juniors.

A source claimed that poaching Mbule and Fleurs was coach Gavin Hunt’s idea as he wants to assemble a strong, young and fresher team for next season. Amakhosi have had a terrible run this season, and need the changes to become a force once again as many of their players seem to have hit the end of their circle.

“Gavin has been given a big budget to work with. He is given a free hand at picking the players he wants to bring to Naturena and Bobby’s (Motaung) job will be limited to negotiating with the prospective players and not scouting them any more.
