City hope to keep Chiefs midfielder in Limpopo

Polokwane City coach Clinton Larsen believes adding midfielder Kabelo Mahlasela to their squad permanently would be a big boost for his side.

Mahlasela joined Rise and Shine on loan from Kaizer Chiefs with the hope of getting more game time as his contract with Amakhosi is set to expire at the end of the season.

Larsen revealed he has talked to the club’s chairman to try and offer the midfielder a permanent contract at the club. The Limpopo outfit could sign the midfielder as a free agent if Chiefs don’t exercise the option of renewing his contract.

“Yeah, definitely. I’ve said it before, I am a big fan of him and I believe that he is a talented player who can help any team in the league,” Larsen said.

“We are lucky to have him at Polokwane City. Hopefully, our chairman [Johnny Mogaladi] does the business and keeps him permanently because I feel he is a player that can influence the way we want to play.”
