Komphela to give Chiefs youngsters a chance

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has revealed that he will give youngsters in the team a chance to play next season after young midfielder Kgotso Malope impressed him during the Carling Black Label Cup derby against Orlando Pirates last weekend.

Malope, as well as Wiseman Meyiwa, Itumeleng Shopane and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, have all been part of the first team camp preparing for the new season.

Komphela said: “Malope went in and made a difference, he did well. But one thing that struck is that as soon as he missed an opportunity he didn’t drop his shoulders, he kept on going. And the next pass he received, he showed the right level or arrogance. We have about 10 players who are below 22. We have a 17-year old in Ngcobo. When he is given a chance to play you won’t feel the age difference because of his ability, and we also have Wiseman Meyiwa.”
