Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup match moved to Port Elizabeth

ABC Motsepe league side The Magic FC had hoped to play Kaizer Chiefs at their home stadium in a last 16 Nedbank Cup game.

However Magic FC have confirmed that their match with Amakhosi has been moved to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The club was informed that there were no stadiums available to book in Cape Town that weekend leading to the game being played in Port Elizabeth.

Magic FC have confirmed they would make arrangements to transport fans from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth for the game.

The Mother City side also made it clear that Safa and the PSL tried to get a stadium in Cape Town for the clash but they failed.

“Magic FC would like to apologise to our loyal supporters for this. We will soon announce some travel options for supporters who want to travel to P.E to consider,” read the statement from the club.

“We would also like to make it clear that SAFA and PSL went out of their way to try and accommodate us to make sure that this fixture could be staged in the mother city.”
