Chiefs explain Dax’s return to Naturena

The presence of Madagascan midfielder Andriamirado 'Dax' Andrianarimanana at Kaizer Chiefs training surprised a few onlookers who thought he was with Black leopards.

Reports suggested that Dax was loaned out to Leopards from Chiefs for the Soweto Giants to free up foreign spots in the squad for the players signed in the off season window.

Chiefs signed James Kotei, Kearyn Baccus, Lazarous Kambole and Samir Nurkovic which fills up all the remaining foreign spots.

“He is training with the team training, he is a Chiefs player,” Chiefs communication manager Vina Maphosa was quoted by Isolezwe.

“I won’t talk about what happened at Black Leopards. There were talks between the clubs about him possibly moving to Leopards on loan but the clubs couldn’t come to an agreement.

“We were surprised to learn that Leopards had announced signing Dax on loan.”

Leopards boss David Thidiela said he didn’t know who confirmed Dax’s signing from the Lidoda Duvha champ.

“We will have an internal investigation to find out who announced Dax’s signing, we spoke to Chiefs but we had not agreed on anything.”
