City coach blasts referee after Cup exit

Polokwane City coach Zlatko Krmpotic has blamed referee Victor Gomes for his side’s exit from the MTN8 competition.

Krmpotic’s side lost 4-3 on penalties to Highlands Park in the second leg of the MTN8 at Makhulong Stadium on Tuesday night.

“This referee cost us the game. I can count three crucial incidents that went against us in the first half,” Krmpotic told the Daily Sun.

“Firstly, he didn’t give us what I thought was a valid penalty in the first half. Secondly, he blew for every foul in favour of Highlands Park, but not for us. This is not normal.

“Things would have turned out differently if he awarded a penalty in the early stages. I don’t want to talk about him anymore.”
