Ex-SuperSport star asks Lebese to develop strong character

Former SuperSport United midfielder Sibusiso Mahlangu doesn't doubt George Lebese's talent but believes he need to be strong mentally if he would like to revive his career at SuperSport United.

“George is extremely talent, you can’t take that away from him,” Mahlangu told Phakaaathi. “At SuperSport, he will play but only if he has character. They need strong players mentally.

Mahlangu was teammates with coach Kaitano Tembo at United and says his former teammate was strong mentally and has brought that into his coaching career.

“He (Lebese) needs to have a big heart and be strong because will need that under Kaitano. He needs to build character, remember he has been in football for a long time, so he needs to lead and not say I am here on loan.

The former Bidvest Wits captain believes Lebese is a leader and needs to live up to the expectations everyone has of him both on and off the field.

“He must lead from the field and outside the field.”

Lebese joined Matsatsantsa on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns in January in search of game time after he fell from coach Pitso Mosimane’s perking order.
