All eyes on Thanda in NFD midweek games

Will Thanda Royal Zulu slip? Or will they extend their lead? While other teams will hope the answer to the first question is a yes, Amabhubesi fans will hope for a no, and a yes on the second question.

Roger Sikhakhane’s team will be the centre of attention on Wednesday afternoon when they take on Witbank Spurs hoping to continue their plausible run. Amabhubesi are yet to be beaten this season and have extended their Nation First Division league lead to 12 points.

Spurs could however be the team to put a spanner in the works for Thanda as they have been in great form of late although they squandered a chance to edge closer when they drew 2-2 with lowly Magesi last weekend.

Amabhubesi’s closest rivals, Royal Eagles will hope for a better result that the dull 1-1 draw they played with Stellenbosch last weekend when they take on struggling Cape Town All Stars also on Wednesday afternoon.

Kosta Papic was left with a bitter taste in his mouth as this team failed to make use of their ball possession at the weekend, failing to collect full points.

NFD Fixures for Wedesday:

Black Leopards v Santos; Jomo Cosmos v Milano United; AmaZulu v Mthatha Bucks, Witbank Spurs v Thanda Royal Zulu; cape Town All Stars v Royal Eagles; FC Cape Town v University of Pretoria; Stellenbosch v Magesi FC; Mbombela United v Real Kings
