Mosimane insulted by Radebe’s comment

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane felt insulted by Lucas Radebe’s statement claiming there is no local coach fit to lead Bafana Bafana.

This comes after the former Bafana Bafana defender and Leeds United captain was quoted as saying he doesn’t support the appointment of a local coach to lead the national team following Shakes Mashaba’s axing.

“The only thing that disappointed me is that there is no local coach that can coach Bafana, are they serious? I think Hunt has outdone himself, he has done well, he must have a run, he is disciplined, he is a good coach and he won three titles with SuperSport. Since he went to Wits he finished second twice,” Mosimane told members of the media.

“He (Hunt) won the MTN8. What else must he do? I don’t have a problem who they appoint, the problem here is Lucas saying there is no one in the country who can coach Bafana. It’s like someone saying there is no player in South Africa to captain Leeds United. I think Hunt has more credentials than everyone to coach Bafana, he should have been given a chance, and it’s an insult to say there is no one who can coach Bafana in the country.”
