Pirates give Van Heerden his clearance

Orlando Pirates have terminated the contract of defender Marc van Heerden.

Van Heerden joined the Buccaneers two seasons ago from AmaZulu.

The left back’ however, failed to command regular game time at Pirates, which has seen him spend time more time on the stands than on the field of play.

The club has now confirmed that it has handed the 30-year-old his clearance to join a team of his choice for next season.

“Orlando Pirates would like to confirm that following a meeting with Marc van Heerden’s representatives last week, both parties have agreed to mutually terminate the 30-year old’s current contract.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club would like to wish Marc the best of luck in his future endeavours,” read the Pirates statement.
