Senong not available for Bafana camp

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter will prepare for the next month’s Afcon qualifier against Libya without the help of his assistant Thabo Senong.

This comes after the South African Under-20 coach ruled himself out of Bafana camp, saying he will be busy in March.

“For me, my priority is the under-20s and my absence from the under-20s will be the death of the under-20s. March is a very busy month for me. I have to go to the World Cup draw, I have to find a camp base for the team in Europe while also going to the different clubs in Europe to monitor the players there, so it is only fair that I focus 100% on the under 20s,” Senong was quoted as saying by the Eyewitness News.

Baxter has not had a permanent assistant since taking over for the second stint as the South African national team coach.

The English mentor is expected ask Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Shaun Bartlett to assist him for the Libya game.
