Tau ready to play for Bafana against Mali

Bafana Bafana and Club Brugge forward Percy Tau is said to have shaken off his injury and is ready to play against Mali in the Nelson Mandela Cup Challenge on Sunday.

Tau joined the Bafana camp on Tuesday carrying a knock after playing club football for Belgian side Club Bruggue.

The Bafana medical team had earlier given updates that Tau is doubtful for Sunday’s clash against Mali. However, Safa acting general manager Mzwandile Maforvane confirmed that Tau is ready to play for the national team.

“I spoke to Tau at the hotel after the team’s training session, he didn’t want to speak about the injury and made it clear that he would like to play for the country,” Maforvane told Lesedi FM.

“He is ready. However, the coach will make the final call on whether he fields him or not on Sunday.”
