Sundowns will dominate the next transfer period – Hunt

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Gavin Hunt believes that Mamelodi Sundowns will out-muscle other Absa Premiership clubs in the upcoming transfer window.

Sundowns have dominated the transfer window over the years since billionaire Patrice Motsepe took over the ownership of the club and Hunt believes this will continue during the offseason transfer period.

“I don’t know what will happen with Kaizer Chiefs,” Hunt is quoted as saying by IOL.

“Sundowns, obviously, they can buy the market. They can buy anybody. I don’t think there will be a lot of foreign players coming into the country.

“Clubs won’t release their players easily. If that player is worth R2 million and you pay R8 million, then they will let him go. Who’s going to pay R10 million for a player? There’s only one team that can do that.”

Sundowns, who have already snapped up George Maluleka from Kaizer Chiefs and Grant Margeman, have been linked with a number of players including Lesedi Kapinga of Black Leopards and Wits’ Gift Motupa.
