Abongwe’s matric results make the Mseleku family proud

Abongwe Mseleku recently passed matric with three distinctions making her parents, MaCele and Musa Mseleku very proud.

Uthando Nesthembu star Musa Mseleku, along with the entire Mseleku family, are celebrating their daughter, Abongwe, who recently passed matric with flying colours.

“Congratulations Abongwe Lizwilikamama Mseleku for getting 3 distinctions. You have made your mother proud the whole family is so proud. I am humbled by your commitment,” Mseleku wrote on Instagram along with a few photos featuring his daughter.

“Ngiyabonga Mthombeni,” commented the matriculant on her father’s post.

Speaking to Times Live, Mseleku said that his daughter had been aiming for four distinctions but only got three, adding that he was proud that one of those distinctions was in IsiZulu, which is the family’s home language.

The reality TV star also revealed that she managed to achieve her result while also participating in sports as part of her extracurriculars.

What awaits Abongwe now is a future at university.

While the family has not shared what qualification she will be studying towards, her father did tell Times Live that she had asked to take care of most of the work involved in getting herself settled for her tertiary education.

“She is very responsible. I’m happy that she has asked me to let her be independent. I am respecting her wishes. She told me she will independently look for accommodation, make sure her registration is sorted and so forth,” he told the publication.

Abongwe’s big day

Earlier this year, Uthando Nesthembu’s viewers got to see the family preparing for Abongwe’s big day, her matric dance, and one of her main requests was that her parents help her arrive in style.

To make her dreams come true, her dad pulled some strings to get a BMW on loan to chauffeur her to the dance.

Her brothers helped their dad by picking the car up and bringing it home for her to see.

Her dad further explained that he was not the one who chose the car because he felt he was not going to be able to tell the dealership exactly what Abongwe was looking for in a car.

Musa also surprised Abongwe with a bouquet of flowers on her big day and each flower had a R100 note wrapped around it.

“I bought her flowers because she broke my heart when she said her date wasn’t coming,” explained her dad.

Her family was also able to help her get the suit she wanted to wear to the dance and MaCele and Musa stood by to see her off on her big day.

During her diary session, she gushed about how her brother helped make her dreams come true by helping her organise her dream entrance to a tee.
