Bonang Matheba launches her own range of bubbly

There are two variants available, Brut and Brut Rosé, which retail for R399 each from Woolworths.

Bonang Matheba is taking her popular catchphrase “champagne darling” to a new level by announcing her own brand of bubbly.

The media personality officially launched a Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) today titled House of Bonang.

MCC is South Africa’s equivalent of champagne. The term refers to local sparkling wines that are made in the traditional French method.

Leading up to the launch, Bonang teased fans with a picture of herself in a vineyard as well as a post that said: “With love, I deliver my passion. Years in the making, and well worth the wait … The House Of BNG.”

A statement on the website describing the sparkling wines reads: “Being a Queen Bee means having everything a girl needs, including fabulous style and personality to match. Introducing my latest little guilty pleasure – BNG – a true indulgence for yours truly, with an elegant and refreshing taste profile.

“Be a part of the latest taste trend and enjoy this traditional Méthode Cap Classique – perfect on its own or with any celebration.”

Last year, Bonang shared a picture of herself in a beautiful Cape Town wine estate, fuelling speculation she had bought a vineyard.  She later shared a video of her signing a deal at the wine estate.
