‘Dala what you must’: Jason Goliath begs for tickets to sold-out Bok game, gets them

The quarterfinal match between France and the Springboks has already sold out. Ticket prices ranged from R1 500 to just above R6 000.

If you can dream, you’re most likely to achieve it, well this is after comedian Jason Goliath begged for tickets for this weekend’s Springbok game against hosts, France, in the Rugby World Cup quarterfinal match and received them.

Jason is on holiday in Italy with his wife, Sian, and the comic took a chance by posting a video of him walking on the streets of Italy, begging corporate to give him two tickets for this Sunday’s big game.

“Your boy is in Europe [sic] which means close to Paris, I can get there easy if your brand has quarterfinal tickets for the South Africa game. Maybe you’re not even going and you want to give your tickets away, or sell them worst case scenario. But imagine me at the quarterfinal, South Africa Rugby World Cup game, doing content for your brand,” was the comedian’s plea.

“I’m just saying give me the tickets and I’ll do anything that I need to dala. No shame, no shame. At €20 to the Rand, where will we afford shame here, we cannot even afford shame,” said Jason.

Giving his update, the comedian shared a video of himself hungover but jubilant about having secured the coveted tickets.

“This is the face of a babalaased (hungover) person, but this is also the happiest person in Italy because I put it out there into the universe. My wife said ‘highly unlikely, you’re wasting your time, you’re embarrassing even’ she mentioned,” said Jason.

“I’ll give you one guess, as to who’s going to the Rugby World Cup quarterfinal. Proving, that if you put something out there believing and dala (do) what you must, nothing is impossible. So yes, I’m babalaased (hungover) on a maximum level, but yes, I’m happy on a maximum level because these eyes will watch Siya Kolisi and ouens  [guys] play against France in France,” said a happy Jason.

Tickets to the game have sold out according to the official Rugby World cup website. The prices range from  €75 (category 4) to €300 (Cat 1), which when converted into South African Rand, range from R1,500 to just above R6 000.
