South African celebs takeover Paris as they enjoy Springboks’ win over France
The intense match had a number of South Africans nervous, some praying to Nelson Mandela to sprinkle that Madiba magic for Mzansi to win.

After begging for someone to give him tickets to the Bok game against France, Jason Goliath and his wife Sian Goliath were among the many South African celebs who witnessed the Boks narrowly beat the host nation.
While on holiday in Italy with his bae, last week, the comedian took a chance by posting a video of him walking on the streets of Italy, begging corporate to give him two tickets for Sunday’s big game.
“I’m just saying give me the tickets and I’ll do anything that I need to dala. No shame, no shame. At €20 to the Rand, where will we afford shame here, we cannot even afford shame,” said Goliath.
“A week ago, we couldn’t have dreamt it and now, not only are we at France against the Boks at Stade de France, but look at our seats,” Goliath gloats in the video, zooming-in on Rachel Kolisi who sat a few rows from them.
One of the first people the comedian shared a moment with is World Cup winning prop Tendai ‘The Beast’ Mtawarira prior the game.

South Africans takeover Paris
From actor Siv Ngesi to broadcaster Robert Marawa and media personality Thando ‘ThaBooty’ Thabethe these were some of the celebrities who were lucky enough to watch the Springboks and France Quarterfinal match at Stade de France in Paris.
In a video before the game, a slew of South Africans sang Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika outside the stadium; one would have thought the game was being played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium or at Ellis Park.
South African rapper Stogie T who is in France for a music tour with a band, also enjoyed the game singing Shosholoza in the streets of France after the match.

Nervous South Africans
The game between the two nations was one of the World Cup’s most anticipated clashes and it lived up to the hype, coupled with the nerves it gave most South Africans who watched.

When things got really intense in the game, actor Vuyolwethu Ngcukana called on the spirit of Nelson Mandela to intervene.

“Easily the best game I’ve seen in my life. We need to get behind the boys. Whatever green you have in your house; whether it’s a tree, whether it’s a bloody carpet or a rug or curtain, pull out your mother’s old teacups. Whatever green and gold you have, get behind these boys,” said a nervous Goliath during half-time.
While one netizen reprimanded President Cyril Ramaphosa for nearly jinxing the game, when he called Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber to wish the team well but also say that he’s already booked his flight ticket to attend the final, which Mzansi is yet to qualify for.
