‘Big Brother Mzansi’ to start this February

The housemates of reality show 'Big Brother Mzansi', will be taking up residence in the house from Sunday, 2 February.


As with ‘Big Brother’ editions all around the world, stakes are high, with one contestant taking home the jack pot prize money.

The show will be hosted by Lungile Radu who is well known to viewers of Channel O, Vuzu, and Mzansi Magic for programmes such as ‘Kasi 101’, ‘O-Boma’ and ‘Forever Young’.

M-Net director for Local General Entertainment SA, Yolisa Phahle said: “Big Brother is the ultimate reality show. It’s unscripted, unrehearsed and literally anything can happen. You’ll see everything as it happens … from the friendships and feuds to the controversy and final contender. This is real TV in real time, 24/7.”

Commenting for Endemol SA, CEO Sivan Pillay adds, “We are thrilled that this time-tested format, one of the earliest in the Endemol stable, is back on South African screens. It remains one of the most exciting social experiments around and one that continues to fascinate viewers the world over with its unique ability to showcase a society and its diversity.”

The show will be broadcast 24/7 on DStv channels 197 and 198, while Mzansi Magic (channel 161) will bring one the live eviction shows exclusively every Sunday at 19:00 as well as the weekly highlights on Saturdays at 17:00.
