Horrific accident claim the lives of two
The child (2) was first removed from the vehicle and shortly after declared dead.

BURGERSFORT – A two-year-old child and the driver of a bakkie died in a horrendous accident on the R37, five kilometres outside town on Tuesday morning.
The bakkie and a Toyota collided head-on. The driver of the Toyota was transported to the Dilokong Hospital. His condition could not be confirmed.

Due to the lack of eyewitnesses, it is uncertain how the accident occurred.
When motorists arrived on the scene, the bakkie was lying on its side. It apparently rolled after the collision, while the sedan was badly damaged on the front left side.

People who stopped at the scene and the paramedics from P5 Emergency Services tried to rescue the child, who was a passenger in the bakkie, but he died on the scene.
The driver of the bakkie had to be cut free with the Jaws of Life.
He was able to speak and communicate with rescue officials, but shortly after he was freed he died due to his injuries.
