The duo are reportedly Ethiopian nationals and were renting the supermarket building from Patel.

According to Const. Zithulele Mhlongo, they are scheduled to appear in court today

Patel stated that he did not condone the duo’s behaviour and stressed that none of his employees were involved with the incident.

He also expressed his disappointment at the community’s behaviour as Patel Hardware continuously supports them through donations.

Marc Haarhoff of Hi-Tech Security Onderberg said that his staff and ACS are currently safeguarding the property and monitoring the situation.
