MALALANE – No one was injured when a truck overturned on the R570 on Friday. The driver, Mr Victor Mashimbyi, and two co-drivers, Mr Prince Nkambule and Mr Mandla Maziya, were on their way to Schoemansdal when Mashimbyi lost control of the vehicle. According to Nkambule, they noticed the turn-off they were supposed to take, to Malalane Kruger gate, too late.
“He (Mashimbyi) quickly hit the brakes and tried to make a quick left turn, and that is when he lost control and the truck overturned,” said Nkambule.
The traffic department, SAPS, security companies as well as Swift Nkomazi arrived on the scene shortly after. The turn-off was closed to traffic for almost four hours and traffic had to be redirected until the scene was cleared.
