ST 4 U Wines to become a big brand
The couple said they are currently producing nine varietals.
BURGERSFORT – To some locals, the hard lockdown has been beneficial. During the difficult period in 2020, Sarah
and Oscar Ramokone of Motaganeng Estate realised their dream.
The couple nurtured their idea and today they are producing their own brand of wines.
ST4U Wines was officially launched on September 18. A 750-millilitre bottle costs between R100 and R180 depending on the varietal.
“We have been busy from April last year. Due to Covid-19, we could not launch our wines in 2020. We were blessed when we officially launched them this September.
“Our wines are different. We have dry white and natural sweet, which goes well with chicken, salads, seafood and dessert.
“Dry red goes well with pork, lamb, braai meats or any kinds of meat; you can also cook some oxtail with it.”
The partners said they always wanted to be in business. “This has been a dream for us. I always wanted to have my own business. I got the idea during the first lockdown. That’s when I started to do research on wines. I then included my husband in the project and so far we had been excelling,” said Sarah.
The couple said they are currently producing nine varietals. “We are busy with the process of getting our products
to the shelves. Currently, we are busy doing promotions to make them known everywhere.
ST4U Wines are also available at some local pubs and restaurants.”
The Ramokones wish to one day have their own store in which customers can buy in bulk.
