Bettie’s Haven children receive three-day Christmas celebrations
Wynand and Bianca Visagie went all out for the orphanage when they asked Mbombela companies to sponsor gifts, meals, decorations and food parcels for the children.

Wynand and Bianca Visagie, financial planners of IWCP Liberty, decided to help those who never have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with loved ones, out. They do not have children of their own and felt the need to help orphan children.

They organised with Sonto Mahlangu, the director of and one of the care givers at Bettie’s Haven, to get a wish list from the children for Christmas. Each one of the 14 children added their wish onto the list.

On December 23, the celebrations started as the Visagies arrived with the number one gift on the list, a brand-new television and DVD player, with many DVDs some locals had given to the cause. The TV and DVD player were sponsored by Craig Strydom, the manager of Jock n Java Pub and Grill.
On Friday December 24, pizzas, drinks and caps were given to the children by Matt Brink of NTT Toyota.
On Christmas Day, the children enjoyed a big meal provided by Bazaruto Restaurant and Jock n Java, and had dessert sponsored by Ocean Basket and Milky Lane.

The Visagies invited Santa Claus to visit the orphanage after the big Christmas lunch, and he gave presents to all the children on the “nice list”.
“We are grateful to each and every person and company who helped us organise this wonderful and important experience for the children. It is amazing to see how many would go out of their way to support the Christmas spirit we all know,” said Wynand.
