The time is here to cast your votes in the eagerly anticipated Best of Mbombela Readers’ Choice Awards 2025.
Voting opened with a bang on the Lowvelder’s website, and closes at midnight on April 26.
The Best of Mbombela awards offer the perfect opportunity to recognise and celebrate excellence in our community.
Proudly hosted annually by Lowveld Media, these awards have become a hallmark of appreciation for businesses that consistently go above and beyond.
For business owners, this recognition is more than a validation of their hard work and commitment – it’s a testament to the meaningful relationships they’ve built with their customers.
This year’s edition introduces a few new categories, with nine main categories this year: Beauty, Health and Wellness; Eat, Drink and Be Merry; Education, Lessons and Coaching; Living in Mbombela; Motoring; Pets; Professional Services; Shopping in Mbombela; and Suppliers.
Since nominations opened on December 19, readers have enthusiastically named their favourite service providers.
This year, more than 3 000 nominations have been received, surpassing last year’s record and highlighting the community’s appreciation for local excellence.

All businesses within the City of Mbombela Municipalitywere eligible for nomination. The power to crown the Best of Mbombela lies entirely in the hands of the public.

Whether you’re a long-time resident or a visitor impressed by exceptional service, your voice matters – and your vote can make a difference. Importantly, voting is open to everyone, regardless of location.

Terms and conditions
• For your vote to be counted, your name, surname, email address and phone number must be provided. Each individual may only vote once per sub-category. Online voting suspected of orchestrated mailing will be discarded.
• Caxton employees, prize sponsors, their ad agencies and immediate families may complete ballots but are not eligible to win published prizes.
• The obligation to make payment to the winners is undertaken by the sponsors. Caxton Local Media cannot in any way be held liable for failure of the sponsors to make payment of the prizes in this competition.
• Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
With regards to the votes and category winners, and following our stringent calculations and audit of the Best of Mbombela Readers’ Choice Awards, both Caxton Local Media and our independent auditors concluded to the following rules and regulations:
The competition is open for voting from March 26 to April 26 at midnight.
The competition is a digitally formatted competition only and only digital entries will be accepted. All images submitted on the publication website will become the property of Caxton Local Media.
If we should discover discrepancies in your categories and entries submitted for your business/institution, or any entries suspected of orchestrated mailing, they will be discarded and your business will be disqualified from the competition. Solicitation and/or bribing in any form are not permitted.
Should it be noted that any business is acting in this way they face disqualification from the competition. Each person (“device”) may vote once per sub-category (e.g., Best Coffee Shop, Best Plumber, etc.) for the duration of the competition.
This ensures fairness. Voters may, however, return as often as they wish to cast votes in other or different subcategories.
