Winter-sport rivals bring the heat
Two of the Lowveld's winter-sport rivals, Curro Nelspruit and Uplands College faced each other Saturday morning at Curro's sport fields.
The latter’s first rugby team lost 22-26 to Uplands College’s second team.
Both showed intent early in the match on with Uplands bossing possession in the opening minutes.
The visitors’ boys and girls hockey teams dominated on the AstroTurf, winning seven of the eight matches with the u/14 girls’ teams drawing one-all.
The u/16 netball sides of Curro once again showed that they are teams to be reckoned with this season.
Both the u/16A and B teams won their games, 10-5 and 31-0 respectively.
As Curro is a growing school, it only fields an u/14, u/16 and first rugby team.
The u/14s lost 0-41 and the u/16s also went down to the boys from White River, 7-43. Penryn College will host Curro Nelspruit in a home fixture of the medium schools league.
