Malema says EFF will lay charges against Gigaba

The EFF claims to have damning factual evidence of 'Zupta' corruption facilitated by the minister and others in government.

Speaking at a press conference at the EFF’s Braamfontein party headquarters on Thursday, EFF leader Julius Malema made claims that he had insider information and evidence of corruption between the ANC-led state and its parastatals, allegedly facilitated by Malusi Gigaba, among others.

Gigaba has previously been the minister of public enterprises and home affairs and is now the finance minister.

Malema says whistle-blowers at Transnet have provided them with details that solidify the accusations that Gigaba and other top officials have been favouring the Gupta family in state deals.

Gigaba has also been fingered in the #GuptaLeaks emails for approving possible irregularities in favour of the Guptas at home affairs.

Though the emails have been disputed, Malema confirmed his party was looking into all the leaked emails, saying his security company was linking every email to a minister and would use this connection of the dots to impeach them in parliament.

“Why would you deny that the emails are real when individuals implicated in them have confirmed the contents?” Malema asked.

He added that they felt they already had a strong enough case to press charges against Gigaba.

In a typically long and wide-ranging press conference, Malema also expressed his displeasure with the DA and the fact that they have not yet removed Helen Zille as the premier of the Western Cape.

He threatened to withdraw his support for the party in those metros and municipalities where the DA only governs because the EFF handed them their votes in 2016.
