#TBT WATCH: Ha monate jwang! Khumbul’ekhaya’s unforgettable Rosalia

Khumbul’ekhaya is one of SABC’s most popular programmes. The weekly programme, even in the face of declining viewership ratings, still manages to pull an average three million viewers weekly.
The hallmark of this show, hosted by musician and activist Andile Gaelisiwe, is its ability to bring together families.
Many of its episodes deliver good news and a long-lost relative, often swallowed by the bright lights of Joburg, to starry-eyed family members who jovially proclaim, nomakanjani, sofa silahlane (for better or worse, you are my relative).
As with most things in life, nothing is guaranteed, and some relatives refuse to return home after being discovered following many years of absence. In this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday, we take a look at one of the few episodes where the writing was on the wall – there was never going to be a happy ending to this reunion.
The woman in question is Rosalia, and after her relative knocked on her door, her body language immediately said, stay away from me. And she said as much herself. At some point, a male occupant is seen running out during Rosalia’s razor-shop rain of answers.
