Malema claims he can knock Maimane out in the boxing ring

The EFF leader says artist Mampintsha is a coward for failing to take up the challenge the DA's leader.

The leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, has made claims that he could take on, and knock out, Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane in the boxing ring.

Malema was speaking to supporters in Sharpville on Thursday where he mentioned Gqom muso Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, who Malema believes failed to take up Maimane’s challenge to a boxing match.

Maimane, following a video of Mampintsha assaulting Babes Wodumo, condemned Maphumulo’s actions and later challenged him to a boxing match on social media.

Malema mentioned the challenge in his address and claimed Mamphintsha was a coward for failing to take up the challenge, Sowetan reports.

“If Mampintsha is a real man … invited to a boxing ring by pastor [Mmusi] Maimane and you want to tell me a fool who cannot take on Maimane in a fight wants us to believe he is a real man,” said Malema.

“Even I would knock out Maimane.

“A lot of men have declared war against our women, these women are hurting hence they say men are trash, they speak from a position of pain and we must understand them and say indeed we are the same but I am trying to be a different man.

“When we grow up in our communities, they teach us [men] that we are superior to women, all of us must say I want to walk myself out of that miseducation and we as men must accept that we have a problem.”
