Translux and City-to-City bus services have reportedly signed a wage agreement ending a dispute in the public transport sector, eNCA reports.
The broadcaster reports that the agreement is for an 8.5 percent salary hike for all drivers at the two companies.
Employers were offering a 7.5 percent pay increase, while unions wanted 12 percent.
The strike started on Wednesday and affects long and short distance buses. It has been endorsed by the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa), South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (Satawu), and the Transport and Services Workers Union (Taswu).
Golden Arrow and MyCiti in Cape Town, Rea Vaya in Johannesburg, Gautrain and Putco, and some long-distance operators had been suspended due to the strike.
