From the archive: When Pirates ruled Potchefstroom

One of the highlights during their tenure include a 1–0 win against Orlando Pirates in driving rain, as well as a fantastic 0–0 draw with Kaizer Chiefs in a packed Olën Park.

A couple of years ago, football fever raged in Potchefstroom with Jomo Cosmos using Potchefstroom as a home base during their thrilling 2015/16 Premier Soccer League campaign.

One of the highlights during their tenure include a 1–0 win against Orlando Pirates in driving rain, as well as a fantastic 0–0 draw with Kaizer Chiefs in a packed Olën Park.

One of the best and most colourful matches was a round of 16 Nedbank Cup match between Jomo Cosmos and Orlando Pirates on a hot Sunday afternoon.

Pirates eventually took a 3–1 victory after Tendai Ndoro scored two goals to send the travelling Pirates fans home happy. Here is the original article that appeared in the Midweek on 11 April 2016.
