Proteas Women geared for Heritage Day clash in Potch

The Proteas Women are set to light up the J.B. Marks Oval in Potchefstroom this Heritage Day (Sunday, 24 September) when they face New Zealand in the first ODI.

The Proteas Women are set to light up the J.B. Marks Oval in Potchefstroom this Heritage Day (Sunday, 24 September) when they face New Zealand in the first ODI. The Proteas are fresh from a fantastic ODI series win in Pakistan and will want to continue that momentum in front of an expectant home crowd.

The talismanic opening batter, Laura Wolvaardt, will captain the team that features a host of star players like Marizanne Kapp, Tazmin Brits, Masabata Klaas, Suné Luus and Nadine de Klerk, to name a few, The Proteas Women have a superb record in Potch, winning 15 of their previous 20 One Day Internationals at this ground.

This series against New Zealand will see the Proteas take the field in Potchefstroom, Pietermaritzburg and Durban for the ODI series, which forms part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022–25 campaign from 24 September to 1 October.

Local fans are encouraged to make their way to the J.B. Marks Oval en masse to support the Proteas as they aim to celebrate the national holiday with a win. The gates open at 08:00, and the game starts at 10:00. Tickets are available on TicketPro or at the North West Cricket offices.

Grandstand: Adults: R80 Students/Scholars/ Pensioners: R40

Grass Embankment: Adults: R50

Students/Scholars/ Pensioners: R25.
