Hunt laments ‘unfair’ treatment by PSL
Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has slammed the PSL for not postponing his side’s midweek league game.
Hunt is unhappy at what sees to be unfair treatment against the Clever Boys when they participate in continental competitions.
“Other teams when they played Egyptian teams last season [Mamelodi Sundowns played Egyptian teams in the Champions League last season]. They didn’t have to play midweek games, but we have to play midweek games,. It’s tough for us to go to Al Ahly and to get back from East London. We are going to get there (in Egypt) in the early hours of Saturday, then play Saturday night.”
Wits played to a 0-0 draw against Chippa United on Tuesday night at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium before travelling back to Johannesburg and flying out to Cairo on Thursday.
