Out-of-favour Sundowns winger opens up about failed loan move

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Aubrey Ngoma says he was disappointed not to get a loan deal during the August transfer period.

Ngoma, who has not enjoyed game time at Sundowns since he joining them from Cape Town City in January last year, was linked with a move to  Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United but nothing came out of those reported interests.

The 30-year-old says he was disappointed when he couldn’t secure a loan deal so he could get game time at another club.

“I am disappointed but I won’t punish myself over it. Some deals happen and others deal never materialise,” Ngoma told Isolezwe.

“You need to let go and shift your focus on helping the team and improve myself as a player.”

Speaking on his relationship with coach Pitso Mosimane, the former Mpumalanga Black Aces star says the Mosimane tries to keep him motivated at all times.

“We have a good work relationship with the coach. He tries to tell me what I need to improve or work on for me to get game time. I am happy to work with him and I learn a lot from what is happening here.”

Ngoma featured for Sundowns at the weekend in the 4-2 loss to Kaizer Chiefs 4-2 in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup.
