Celtic coach blasts referee after Sundowns defeat

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema is convinced the referee favoured Mamelodi Sundowns in their league tie on Wednesday night.

Sundowns beat Celtic 2-1 at the Dr Molemela Stadium and registered their second loss of the season in four games.

Seema believes the officiating could have been better in their home game.

“I am not used to complaining about the referee. I was happy with some of the decisions he took,” said Seema.

“The referee didn’t make calls when some of my players were fouled. Sundowns fouled my players because they wanted to break down our momentum.

“I still want to take a second look at the penalty, I will get a chance to analyse it properly. I don’t think it was a penalty, it shouldn’t have been given.

“I thought the linesman could have done better today. I am happy with the way the players applied themselves especially the way we ended the game, the way we played towards the end was good.”
