Jwaneng preparing for ‘game of their lives’ against Pirates

Jwaneng caused an upset two weeks ago when they claimed a 1-0 victory over Pirates in the first leg.

Jwaneng Galaxy coach Morena Ramoreboli is preparing for an intense battle against Orlando Pirates in the return leg of the second preliminary round of the Caf Champions Leg at Orlando Stadium on Friday.

Ramoreboli’s men caused an upset two weeks ago when they claimed a 1-0 victory over Pirates in the first leg at Botswana National Stadium.

“We know that we have to be at our best in order to beat Pirates at Orlando. We are preparing for a game of our lives because we know that they will come out win guns blazing since we won the first leg,” said Ramoreboli.

“They will be determined to turn things around. So, they will try everything they can to make sure that they win. But, we won’t back down, we are going there to fight and to make sure that we stay in the competition. But, I’m happy with how things have gone so far in terms of preparing for this game. The players look shaft and they are all motivated to do well.”

The Botswana based side will be coming up against a Pirates team that is currently low on morale following their three consecutive losses.

The Buccaneers losing streak started against Jwaneng. They then lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership and were edged 1-0 by Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 second leg.

With the Sea Robbers having gone into a slump, Ramoreboli is not reading much into those losses.

“Every game is different. And the fact that they have been losing games makes them more dangerous. There is a spot in the group stages at stake and another motivation for them is to get back to winning ways. So, we are not going to look at their past results and take them lightly. We are going to play our best game with the intention of winning,” he added.

The winner of this tie will qualify for the group stages of the Champions League.
